Download Akashlipi 2.5.2
Pick the file for your Linux. Each one includes the ADS-B decoder (readsb), the RTL-SDR Blog V4 driver tools and the aircraft-message decoders (dumpvdl2, acarsdec). Once it’s installed, follow the setup guide.

Any other Linux
64-bit PC (x86_64), AppImage
Install with chmod +x adsb-logger-2.5.2-x86_64.AppImage, then open it and click Set up
Not sure which you have? Run uname -m in a terminal: x86_64 means a 64-bit PC, aarch64 means 64-bit ARM. If your Linux uses apt, take a .deb; if it uses dnf or zypper, take an .rpm. The AppImage is larger because it carries its own Python and window toolkit.
Requirements
- Linux with glibc 2.31 or newer: Ubuntu 20.04, Debian 11, Fedora, RHEL 9 or anything more recent.
- Python 3.8 or newer for the .deb and .rpm (already on almost every Linux). The AppImage brings its own.
- An RTL-SDR dongle (RTL2832U) and a 1090 MHz antenna. A second dongle and a VHF dipole of about 110 cm for aircraft messages.
- Raspberry Pi: a 64-bit OS. There is no 32-bit (armhf) build.
Check the download
Every release has a SHA256SUMS file. Put it in the same folder as the package and run:
sha256sum --check --ignore-missing SHA256SUMS
It should print your file’s name followed by OK.
Upgrading
Install the new package over the old one with the same command. Your log in ~/adsb-log is kept and backed up first, and so is your location. Upgrading from 2.4 also re-checks the whole log against the DGCA register.
Removing it
sudo apt remove adsb-logger # .deb
sudo dnf remove adsb-logger # .rpm
adsb-logger setup --remove-system && rm adsb-logger-*.AppImage # AppImage
Your logs in ~/adsb-log are never removed.
