> Release notes for each version of Akashlipi (adsb-logger).

Release notes for each version. The files for every version are on the [releases page](https://github.com/anathaniel82/akashlipi-releases/releases).

## 2.5.2

- **Frequency survey:** the messages watchdog and decoder no longer take the dongle back while a survey runs, so the survey has the dongle to itself. After upgrading, run the survey again from Manage › Dongles.
- **Message viewer:** clicking a message opens it in a pane beside the list (full screen on narrow windows), with the plain-English summary, what it says, the text as received (with Copy), the details and a link to the aircraft’s pass. Newer and Older buttons, ↑/↓ or j/k to move, Esc to close. It stays open while the list refreshes, and the list keeps its place as new messages arrive.
- **Packages:** .deb and .rpm for 64-bit PCs and ARM (amd64 and arm64), and an AppImage for x86_64, all built by a new release pipeline.

## 2.5.1

- Features follow each dongle’s job.
- Aircraft messages decoded into plain English.
- The receiver runs while the app is open; closing the window keeps it in the tray, with an explicit Quit.
- A watchdog for every receiver.
- Spoken alerts.

## 2.5.0

- **Its own app window**, with a menu and a native Save as…; closing it leaves logging running.
- **India’s DGCA aircraft register, offline:** owner, lessor and charter operator for VT- aircraft, refreshed every 30 days. Private and general-aviation aircraft are labelled as such, and the airline is taken from the registration when the callsign doesn’t say.
- **IATA flight numbers** (for example 6E 5203), derived from the callsign or looked up, never guessed.
- **Aircraft messages (ACARS and VDL2)** on a dongle with the Messages job: a Messages tab, `adsb-logger messages -f`, messages linked to each pass, a frequency survey and opt-in sharing.
- **Dongle serial numbers:** a dongle with the factory serial or a duplicate gets its own number from 00000100 up, after a backup of its memory. Each dongle has a job.
- **Handheld layout** for 640×480 screens such as the Waveshare PocketTerm35.
- **Click-through setup and repair:** Manage › Health has Fix buttons, Repair everything and Remove system parts.
- Type fixes (Gulfstream G200, Hawker 900XP, 737 MAX), one label for Indian military aircraft, map tiles cached for offline use.
